About this app

one sec forces you to take a deep breath whenever you open distracting apps.

It’s as simple as effective: You will reduce your social media usage just by becoming aware of it. one sec is the focus app that tackles the problem of unconscious social media use at its root. It is designed to change your habits on a long-term basis.

one sec works so great because it is fully automated – and forces you to reflect on your actions – while they happen.

With one sec, you‘ll notice both a short-term and long-term effect on your social media usage:

1. Unconscious phone habits are prevented right away (“Why did I even want to open that app?”) and
2. Long-term habits change because these apps appear less appealing to your brain (their “dopamine on demand” effect fades away).

We have made one sec free to use with one app!

A great app. You can trial it on one app and I liked it so much I paid for the pro version. It's made me aware of just how much time I was wasting on games. I can still play, but I get messages asking me if I really want to access a game and reminding me when I've reached the time I allocated to play. That intervention often makes me decide to stop playing. The android version doesn't have as many options as the IOS version, which was released first, but the developer is working on that.

The app is becoming more and more glitchy, I was using one app, but the intervention would come on for another app. The intervention will load when you try to do something within an app before the timer has run out, or atleast it seems that way as it seem very coincidental that the timer always runs out when I click to view a comment or any kind of action within an app rather than just at random. But I've found I've just tolerated the interventions rather than changed my behaviour.

This app glitches too much while functioning. Eg.: The blocked app opens up and then on pressing back while exiting the app, the block screen pops up. All permissions are given and numerous times I have reset it but nothing gets sorted. The issue remains. If you could rectify the bugs, I would buy the premium.
