At Xero, protecting your data is fundamental to everything we do. Just one easily guessed password can stop your business in its tracks. So Xero has put an extra deadbolt on the door to help keep your data secure.

This is why Xero uses MFA to secure logins. It significantly reduces the risk of someone gaining access to your account, even if they’ve managed to obtain your email and password through a phishing attack or malware.

The Xero Verify app is simple to use. You can receive push notifications for fast authentication, instead of having to open the app and enter a code into Xero when you login. Simply accept the notification on your device’s home screen - it’s that easy.

Features:
* Sign into your Xero account using push notifications on your device (if enabled).
* Generate six digit verification codes, even if you don’t have a network or mobile connection.
* Use Xero Verify to authenticate your Xero account (it can’t be used on other products outside Xero)

Absolutely appalling. The change was unnecessary and it doesn't work half the time. It says "skip this step for 30 days" but you click this and it still makes you verify the login every time. If the core software wasn't so good I'd migrate all our clients to Quickbooks. Update: it now has a feature where you can "trust this device" and surprise surprise, that doesn't work either! I have to "trust this device" multiple times every day. Perhaps employ some competent software developers?

Horrendous! Been trying to set this up for weeks! I work for two different companies that both use Xero & I cannot access either account. Every time I try to use the Set Up key it directs me back to my mobile & says the time & date is wrong & I cannot get any further! Beyond frustrated & getting angry now! Why did you have to change it? It was working perfectly well before! A contact number to be able to talk to a human being would be a good idea!

Become an absolutely joke this app. Had to re-download it to a new phone as I changed phones. The advice on Xero Central for integrating this is beyond useless, I haven't currently got access to the old backup email address and the authentication code system is useless (because I can't pair the app). So I'm stuck going round and round. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the security before and this has me almost wanting to ditch the whole thing and use a different bookkeeping site.
