Been using for a few weeks. Whilst the remote doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the other apps I've tried, this one hasn't failed me once! Every single other app has worked ok for a little while and then inexplicably just stopped connecting, despite my TV and phone being connected to the same WiFi. It even happened with the TCL app itself, which is the model of my TV. This app is the only one I'd recommend for someone who readily loses their remote, because it's consistent

This app is so glitchy. Recently I am getting notifications from this app saying things like 'ssssss' and 'eeeee'. Honestly I will be amazed if this is not some kind of spyware app. There is basically nothing useful in this app apart from the controller, it is unintuitive to play videos and not very user friendly. And why is it called "MagiConnect"? This isn't the 80's no one thinks it's magic... We have Chromecast, Amazon fire etc which are all much better implementations.

Only interest in the app is to use my phone as a remote for my TV. Pros: +Once connected to your tv the remote is responsive and fully featured. It could replace your remote in every function. Cons -Have to deal with constant banner ads as well as full page timer ads -Confusing process to connect to TV. (Had to install companion app on tv, and another services app and it could be made clearer) I would expect the app for a TV company's TV to be ad-free! I'd look for alternatives if they exist.
