I have been doing this course from the website rather than the app and have found it very good especially for free. I have done the A1 andA2 placement tests which worked well on my phone so will probably go back to using the website on my tablet as the screen no my phone is a bit small to read some of the exercises.

The content of the app is great, it's one of the single best resources for learning German I've found. However I've been on the app for some weeks now, looked at it this morning and its wiped nearly all my progress- the only completed levels showing are the ones I did last year, nothing I've done recently.

I'm afraid this app has gotten worse. The lower levels are presented in English. The intermediate levels are people speaking at full speed recorded in "realistic" situations, meaning poor sound quality. The music is louder than the voices. Once a video lesson finishes, you have to step back through several links to get the link to the next one, and then find the tiny play button on the video. Before, it was full of articles on different topics, recorded at several speeds.
