Whether you're in IT support, working from home, or a student studying remotely, AnyDesk's remote desktop software has a solution for you, allowing you to connect to remote devices securely and seamlessly.

AnyDesk offers a wide range of remote desktop functions such as:
• File Transfer
• Remote Printing
• Wake-On-LAN
• Connection via VPN
and much more

The AnyDesk VPN feature allows the creation of a private network between local connecting and remote clients, providing additional security to users. It is important to note that it is not possible to access devices on the remote client's local network or vice versa. Nevertheless, after successfully connected over VPN, the following programs can be used over VPN:
• SSH – Ability to access the Remote Device over SSH
• Gaming – Ability to access a LAN-Multiplayer Game over the Internet.

Since the latest update, it no longer works from my samsung phone. It connects but stops working within 20 seconds. Then then the connection gets stuck, and I have to then force close it from phone settings. Then do the same. Plugin is permissioned and running as stated on several websites as a solution to this issue, which does appear to be a legacy issue by the dates of the posts. Until this is fixed, it's completely useless for remoting from a phone.

I thought this app was being targeted by a bad review campaign, but after installing I understood the main issue: the controls are not clear at all on how to disable any incoming connections by default - if at all possible. TBH, I was shocked to see that this app was designed to allow connections to your phone instead of being geared towards connecting remotely to your computer (which I wanted to do). Why would you want your phone being discovered by others - as per default settings?! Scary...

OK if you are going to use the free version, but beware if you are thinking of buying a licence for a full version. They invoiced me for one year for a professional licence (which I paid), but the subscription on the portal was only for 3 months. Have been trying regularly for months now to get them to sort it out. Now it has expired. Have given them 48 hours to resolve this before I ask my bank to recall the transaction.
