Honestly, it's no better or no worse than any other Microsoft product. And what I mean by that is sometimes it can be buggy. Sometimes it can be a little bit too eager to meet the need of the consumer. Sometimes you will have to just cold, cut it. To prevent it from occupying, too many resources on your device. But overall, it does what it's supposed to do. It defends against viruses

Microsoft accessibility service switches off randomly a number of times during the day. It's really annoying. Microsoft have acknowledged this is a problem so why can't they fix it? I keep getting Messages that Web protection is off and I have to switch it back on again? Why? If the app can't maintain protection for more than an hour or two, what is the point? Like being told the brakes have failed on your car & you need to fix it. Fortunately Microsoft don't build brakes.

Whilst I can recommend Microsoft Defender for Windows 11, I cannot say the same for the Android edition. It requires an active Microsoft 365 subscription to use, lacks a dark theme, runs in the background constantly which drains my Google Pixel 6 Pro's battery like mad, and found nothing on my phone after doing a very quick, and therefore light / not very intensive, scan. Perhaps if Microsoft put some serious effort into improving this app, then I might use and recommend it to more people.
